Abstract: The results of measurements of the airborne and underwater noise characteristics of the Caspian Falcon hovercraft (HSC) carried out in the Ural-Caspian Canal during the period of fish spawning and bird nesting in the spring of 2022 are presented. The measurements were done in order to assess the noise impact on ornitho- and ichthyofauna of the delta Ural river. A distinctive feature of the environmental studies carried out was the using of a Particle Motion Receiver (PMR) of the gradient type developed by IORAN. The importance of assessing the values of Particle Motion is determined by the fact that the hearing of a large part of fish perceives sound not by pressure, but by vibrations of the particles of the medium. The estimates of the levels of underwater and airborne noise and distances to the boundaries of safety zones for ornitho- and ichthyofauna obtained in the work indicate the advantages of using hovercrafts in areas with increased requirements for environmental safety.
