Abstract: Target Echo Strength (TES) measurements of two TESSMEX objects were made over a wide range of frequencies at Loch Goil during March 2022, as part of International collaboration. To contribute to the understanding of scattering from the objects, a number of modelling studies were undertaken. These use a variety of techniques to examine scatter features of the objects at differing acoustic frequency domains. In particular:\n• Kirchhoff Approximation Modelling of M32C allowed estimations of Echo Reduction and Transmission Loss of the Sylodyn® encasing M32C and the alignment offset of the object in the water.\n• Ray Acoustics Modelling models was applied to the acoustic scatter (including multiple bounces) from two regions of M32T: In both cases, good agreement between measurement and model is obtained, enabling the identification of the causes of significant scatter features. \n• Finite Element techniques were also applied to modelling M32T at a lower frequency. The results were roughly compatible with measurement outputs, with: differences believed due to the model limitation to continuous wave insonification while the measurements were made with short finite pulses.\n
