Abstract: This paper summaries our recent developments on broadband underwater acoustic communications and navigation transduction through advances in electromechanical design, piezoelectric materials, polarization, multi-resonant mode, baffling and broadband tuning and matching. Results include cylindrical and spherical transducers optimized for broadband operation and their modeling and test results. Summary of work on the creation of spiral waves for navigation and transduction using multi-mode excitation of transducer shows promise for multi-function applications. Results of frequency response, TR/V, impedance, power factor, Directional Factor, receive response, are presented. Btechacoustics.com.
