Abstract: The Abstract: TESSMEX is an international collaboration established jointly between Australia, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, to expand the abilities of the participating nations to perform Target Echo Strength (TES) measurements. Scale models were manufactured, and TES measurements made at the facilities operated by each of the participants.\nThe models are based on the M32 standard target that was previously established for the Benchmarking Target Echo Strength Simulation (BeTSSi) workshops. It is a double hulled structure, that includes cylindrical, conical, spherical parts, and corner reflectors. Several versions of the M32 were manufactured at different scales, and these ranged in length from 5 m to 0.5 m.\nParticipating nations will learn from comparing their results, and sharing their experiences of measuring the same objects, increasing their confidence and improving their own measurement methods. The project will also help to establish standards for the presentation and analysis of TES data, that will improve clarity and understanding in future discussions between participating nations. The scale models will also be numerically modelled by the participants, so that the results can also be used to support the validation of the TES simulations methods.\nThe presentation will give an overview of the project, and include a description of the scale models and of the measurement facilities.\n
