    Abstract: In order to meet the demand for convenient on-site calibration of hydrophone, an integrated portable calibrator is designed. To carry out a calibration, the acoustically sensitive area of the calibrated hydrophone is struck with the standard hydrophone at the center of their PZT elements. Signals of the two hydrophones generated by the impact are picked up and converted into digital form through a dual-channel receiving circuit, then integration of received signals over time are carried out, the sensitivity of the calibrated hydrophone is obtained using the comparison of the integral values of the two hydrophones. Experimental results indicate that the maximum calibration deviation for spherical hydrophones is about 1.5 dB, and could be reduced to about 1dB when the calibrated hydrophone has the same size as the standard one. The method is proven to be effective for other types of hydrophones as well.\nKeywords: Hydrophone; Sensitivity calibration; Uncertainty
